Yes, gone are the halcyon days of high conservative thought when pro-gay Republican groups were barred from CPAC. I guess they were too hot for the "marketplace of ideas".

Reality: CPAC has long been anti-LGBTQ, racist, misogynistic garbage. This isn't a new development.
Who do conservatives like @secupp peddle this absolutely fucking bizarre nonsense that conservatives suddenly got hateful in the past three years? Trump didn't make y'all this way. He just started saying the quiet parts out loud. And you know that. So, own it.
I'm just sick and tired of being expected to express gratitude for so-called "moderate conservatives" because they only hate some of us rather than all of us. Because they're just a little more rational. I mean, for godsake, when is enough gonna be enough?

What I wouldn't give for the Democratic women candidates to spend this month traveling together on a sarcastic apology tour for being female and highlight issues facing women at every campaign stop.
Call it the Bechtel Bus.
Invite guest speakers at every campaign stop and have them be the actual headliners to speak as experts on racism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, xenophobia, immigration, health care, childcare, family leave, wage discrimination, etc.

Members of Congress are eligible for a lifetime pension at age 62 and having served at least five years in office. Elected at 56 and serve three House terms? Pension!

Let's do this: pensions are invalidated if your register as a lobbyist or sit on a corporate board.
I personally think it should be illegal for any Member of Congress or senior government official to later register as a lobbyist or sit on a corporate board, but let's start there. Let's remove taxpayer-funded pensions from greedy former Members who are bilking the system.
In fact, I'll go further: Members of Congress are eligible for a pension only for as long as they take another civil servant job--say, teaching at a public university--and must be means tested. If they refuse, they forfeit their pension.

Thread: #CPAC this year was impressive. The Bill Kristols of the world can say whatever they want - I saw 10k people from all walks of life, and more young people at this conference than I’ve EVER seen in all of my time going to CPAC.
There were all sorts of media granted press pass - from independents like me, to Sirius and Blaze, etc - all interviewing everyone they could to learn more about why they were there. The speakers and panels were impressive, and activism boot camp helped young people strategize
Boots on the ground are important, and the sessions were helpful to those wanting to spread the conservative message. The conference was pro life, with the movie “Unplanned” taking an opportunity to premier. I cried just watching the trailer.

The argument, which Megyn Kelly made today, that Democrats lost in 2016 and the only question now is whether Kavanaugh is qualified is emblematic of right wing gaslighting.
Obama won in 2012, so Garland should’ve been confirmed with the same bipartisan consensus Kelly laments that past justices received.
Garland was also a choice Obama made in respect to the GOP majority. He didn’t replace Scalia with another Kagan.
