I see the Bernie bros have come into my timeline. So if class is black people’s primary barrier and not race answer the following questions:
Why are black children of all classes the most likely to be in high-poverty schools while the typical poor white child attends a middle-class white school?
Why do, according to the US Census, poor white people live in wealthier neighborhoods with less concentrated poverty than middle to upper income black people?
Why do white people with a high school education have lower unemployment rates and higher incomes than black people who’ve attended college?
Why do black women — regardless of income and insurance — have Third World maternal and infant mortality rates?
Why are black people earning $200k getting worse home loan terms than white people earning $30k, even when controlling for credit?
Why is white man with a criminal record more likely to get a job than a black man with no criminal record?
*higher WEALTH not income
I could do 10 more of these. But before I go on, I’ll wait for you to give an explanation to the above that doesn’t prove race is an independent disadvantage across class for black people. Black people are disproportionately poor, but still, the majority of black peoples aren’t.
So, explain these disadvantages across class, income and education, and why white folks with less money still fare better than black folks with more, and if you can without RACISM, you win.
