"all we can do is pray" says Japanese car parts manufacturer Calsonic Kansei regarding no deal Brexit. Lead story in Nikkei Business magazine. Points out 48% of 🇬🇧 car production is 🇯🇵 1/3
Calsonic Kansei has factories in Romania and Spain as well as Sunderland, but each one focuses on making different parts and it would be difficult to switch immediately to producing them in 🇬🇧. 2/3
For larger parts, have assembly near factories of Nissan etc, which may have to cease production if Nissan or Toyota or Honda halt production because cannot import components. Are stockpiling but no deal could mean end of UK centred supply chain for 🇯🇵 automotive sector 3/3

Of course Honda Swindon closure is not just about the 3,500 jobs there. Other Honda suppliers in the UK include G-TEKT production in Gloucester, Tredegar, Ebbw Vale employing 800 people. But also plant in Slovakia starting 2019. 1/
Honda Logistics employs a further 1200 in Swindon. What will happen to the >1200 employed by Honda Motor Europe (European HQ in UK) in Bracknell in sales and marketing of not just cars but motorbikes, power products etc? 2/
Or the 235 employed by UYS in Cowley making exhaust systems? Honda is their sole customer... There's another 70 people in Aberdare making shock absorbers for Honda - their only production in Europe. 3/

The loudest Remainers seem to want to go back to 2016. They are detached from pre-ref reality: there had been failures of UK democracy for decades. #Brexit 2/

2/ Mrs May will not be able to get the backstop removed from the WA. She will however get some additional promises and clarifications from the EU.
3/ This will not be enough to satisfy the DUP (what would be?) but many MPs, worried about impending no-deal brexit, will vote in favour of Mrs May's deal.

Despite her #BREXIT deal being defeated by biggest margin a government has lost a vote ever maybot seeks concessions on backstop despite being told to bog off by the EU with no realistic hope of a different answer
Corbyn meanwhile refuses to talk #BREXIT without no deal being ruled out despite knowing she can't do this whilst maybot makes no concessions either.

Tutti i governi Ue si stanno preparando con avvertimenti a cittadini, amministrazioni, imprese. Alcuni assumono migliaia di persone per le dogane.

Forse mi son perso qualcosa. Ma il governo italiano che fa?
Facciamo un esempio: in Italia risiedono 28.168 cittadini britannici.

Dopo la Brexit diventeranno extra-comunitari. Cosa ne facciamo in caso di no-deal? Tutti espulsi con foglio di via il 30 marzo?

Oppure li facciamo votare alle elezioni comunali come ora?
Un alto esempio banalotto: l'Italia esporta 760 milioni di euro di vino, di cui 300 milioni di prosecco.

In caso di no-deal servono doganieri per le pratiche di esportazione. E chi glielo dice ai trevigiani che devono prendersi un broker a Dover per sdoganare?
