Pundits working the pc culture run amok beat have their angle and I don’t begrudge them that, but they do their readers a disservice by not discussing cases like this. It is, after all, what motivates the amok running. But typically it gets to-be-sured somewhere below the fold.
I suspect that @robbysoave @jessesingal etc. believe that most people already have a general sense of these things and that the pc student response is the more newsworthy story. I’m not so sure. I think most people have a pretty vague understanding of what’s happening on campus.
By all means, vigorously report the pc student response! But unless you also find some way of reporting the steady drumbeat of racist/sexist/etc. incidents, a crucial piece of context is missing.
Ok, I hate giving unsolicited advice to journalists. Sorry. Gripe over.
