Our report showing that immigrants with foreign degrees are less skilled when tested than US degree holders was challenged by @WalterAEwing of @immcouncil.

Perhaps the oddest part about Ewing's attack on our analysis of standardized test results is that he spends most of his piece defending H-1B visa holders--even though these tests cannot distinguish H-1Bs from any other type of "high-skill" immigrant.

If @immcouncil is right--and the H-1B visa really does bring us many brilliant minds--let's agree to require evidence, in the form of standardized tests, from every future H-1B applicant. We're sure the American Immigration Council will join us on that.

Ewing claims that the reason immigrants underperform natives on tests is because these tests assess only basic skills, while the immigrants have advanced, specialized skills.
If the immigrants have advanced skills, the basics should be a cinch for them!
