1/3 Over the past few weeks I've received several very kind messages from people who confessed they had been suspicious or critical of my work for years, but when circumstances pushed them to pick up one of my books, they realized they had me wrong and they wanted to apologize...
2/3 ....I'm not sharing this to toot my own horn or anything. I've written similar messages myself, to other authors/pastors/thinkers, and I'm certain I could write more considering how much my own perspectives have evolved, stretched, and changed over the last decade...
3/3...I'm just sharing because it's nice to be reminded that people change, and that some are kind and humble enough to apologize to someone they've never met for something I likely don't even remember. We're all in process. Myself included.

Thread. Lifeway is closing all of its physical locations, and I’m truly sorry to everyone for whom this means the loss of a job or a publishing partner. But, at the end of the day, this is good news for writers of faith and Christian publishing...
I made a few enemies (and a lot of secret friends!) waaaaay back in 2012 when I took on Lifeway with this post... rachelheldevans.com/blog/christian…
My hope is that this news will reinforce to writers, editors, publishers, and marketers in the industry that we don’t have to conform to Southern Baptist culture and theology to sell books and that fear of getting banned from Lifeway shouldn’t drive editorial decisions.

.@desiringGod grieves the demise of the "Disney Princess" as though it were some kind of biblical ideal. The degree to which complementarians conflate cultural phenomenon with "God's truth" is astounding. (Cue Sara Bareilles "Fairytale.")
Also? Next time y'all accuse me of "straw-manning" complementarianism, I'm gonna share this quote.

Jesus was executed by Rome.
Seems @LibertyU needs to change its motto to "We Have No King But Caesar."
It's also really funny how "render unto Caesar" applies to building border walls but not to, I don't know, providing healthcare to people. That verse seems to only apply in Republican administrations.

As a "contemptuous Remainer", may I assure you that I have considered the implications of "winning", as you put it, very carefully.
First, Remainers long ago gave up the idea of #Brexit being a winner/loser situation. They are all too fully aware that leaving/2
2/ will be nothing but lose/lose all round. Oh, except maybe for those who are trying to avoid the new tax legislation.
Second, the 48% who voted #Remain, and the @the3million and @BritishInEurope who were disenfranchised in the 2016 referendum /3
3/know only too well what it's like to have their vote ignored and their postal votes "lost" or maybe never counted. The BBC & other *impartial* media outlets name them persistently as #Remoaners, if mentioned at all. The PM referred to them as "losers" in the Withdrawal Bill. /4

1/ At the risk of sounding like Mike Myers' famous SNL talk-show host Linda Richman, "Mueller's final Trump-Russia report" is neither "Mueller's," final, about "Trump-Russia" or a "report." So all the breathless "reporting" today suggesting otherwise is inaccurate and misleading.
2/ What we call the "Trump-Russia" investigation is a web of criminal, counterintelligence, and Congressional investigations that intersect with the work of the Special Counsel's Office. So there are three key "c"-words here—"criminal," "counterintelligence," and "Congressional."

This #darkpost from the Republican Jewish Coalition ran 12/26 -- it is the only dark post, & likely the only ad they've ever run. They have since either deleted the ad or deleted the Facebook Business Manager account they used.
