Pub update.

One barkeep, apparently wishing to seem St. Patricks-y while having no acquaintance with the Irish, is dressed in a jaunty seaman’s cap.

It has a distinctive Captain and Tennille flair to it.

There is a decent chance I will be wearing that cap at some point.
Overheard:

“I don’t usually drink Guinness on St. Patrick’s Day because—“

...and then I blocked out while consumed with the impulse to adopt the proper posture of a classic Irish pugilist.
Do I get one more Guinness?

I shall ponder this over maybe one more Guinness.
I... I... don’t even understand what’s happening here.

A bar pie. A Michelob Ultra.

My bar neighbor ordered. I mean. Just. Why?

On the other hand, she’s lovely and offered me a slice, so in the spirit of unity, who am I to say no?
The pub’s playlist is a schizophrenic bounce between modern, thumping, electric guitar-driven Irish rock and doleful classics like “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”.

I’m swinging between wanting to mosh or sing-cry with my arms around fellow patrons. Maybe both. We’ll see.
Into my local pub walked a man of dubious Irish provenance wearing a foam leprechaun’s hat approximately 12 leprechauns high.

That’s a sign not to be ignored that the time has come to get your check.

Thus I did.

I say this with no joy.
