Any candidate that doesn't already have an answer to this in their policy plan isn't a candidate that deserves your vote. People are dying.

Italy: since 1978
Japan: since 1961
Germany: since 1990

Meanwhile, in America:
It's not just the fact that America is the ONLY country in the G7 where its citizens go bankrupt from medical debt, or that medical debt is actually the LEADING cause of bankruptcy in America. It's that this current system is killing people for profit.
So it's either every other developed nation on Earth is suddenly "socialist," or politicians are lying to you to protect their donors' profits. I'll let you decide which one is more likely.

Lets look at the problem from the @PhRMA / business perspective. And lets suppose you are a wonderful company, started by wonderful people who just want to make the world a better place (I know, not real, but stay with me for a minute).
You start with a great idea / or pipeline platform and start selling this concept to #VC #VentureCapital, and lets assume that this is actually a really good idea. What is the needed return on investment to make this worth while. A: further R&D must exceed the cost of capital.

1) No they don't.

2) There's a difference between a high-earning household and a truly wealthy household making most of its income on interest and capital gains.
Income tax isn't the issue. It's capital gains and estate taxes being so low that allow the wealthy to hoard so much more wealth every single year while the rest of us fall further and further behind.
Wealth inequality is higher than its been in over a century while our government/infrastructure/middle class are falling apart.

And the wealthy use their money to buy politicians who refuse to even consider taxing obscene wealth at a fair rate.

They saw they could get ratings in 2015 airing Trump rallies because people wanted to see the novelty candidate. They kept giving airtime for ratings dollars. Then the “pied piper candidate the Hillary campaign wanted was the nominee. 2/
Then the media went into the normal support the democrat phase as usual. She maintained huge leads. They hammered Trump relentlessly. Then the night of Nov 8 2016 happened. 3/
