With everything else going on, I don't think enough people are picking up on the many weird – indeed creepy – things in Jabba the Hutt's report, I mean the Economic Report of the President. We've already noted the claim that there is no poverty in America. But there's more 1/
It was already clear that the WH economics team has some seriously strange issues with the apparent success of the Nordic economies. Are they socialist hellholes or actually free market economies in disguise? They go both ways 2/
What really struck me, however, was this table, attempting to show that the Nordics have failed because they're not as rich as Americans of Nordic ancestry 3/ 
Will someone explain to me how this isn't racist? True, the report says that it shows something about Nordic "culture". But Scandinavian emigration to the US peaked in the 1880s, and dropped off sharply after 1910 4/ teacher.scholastic.com/activities/imm…
So does a Minnesotan of Norwegian descent really share that much culture with a modern Norwegian? There may be a few distinctive turns of phrase, ya sure, you betcha – but there's 5 generations of cultural change on both sides of the Atlantic 5/
I don't see any way to read this except as asserting that since blond white people are relatively well off in America, they should have the same incomes everywhere. Is this really where you want to go? Do you want to do the same comparison with, say, Israel? 6/
