So, I go walking toward the wetlands and see an unhappy looking fellow trudging toward me with a camera and lens long enough to record life on Jupiter.

Me: See anything interesting?

Him: Nah. Saw a couple ducks...

I’m in for a dime, in for a dollar though, so I march on.

Get about five mins in and... I dunno what he was pointing his camera-cannon at but... it was all duck dynasty up in there.

Mixed flocks. Birds perched, fishing, roosting, on the wing.

Here a bird, there a bird, everywhere a bird, bird.

These chill-ass mallards...

And northern pintails...

I mean, I flushed about 20 northern shovelers by accident. I don’t know who was more surprised - me or them.

Gulls, robins, barn swallows, a kestrel off behind me.

It was a bird fest...

Now, that was a good walk.
