Today I'll be spotlighting @DharmaProtocol - the decentralized, P2P lending protocol built on Ethereum.

Dharma has seen incredible growth for both lending and borrowing over the past couple of weeks (as seen in the chart below).

1/ The Dharma protocol itself creates a pool of debtors and creditors that uses a 'relayer' mechanism (similar to @0xProject) with the role of relayers being to provide the interface to submit and gather orders.
2/ One of these relayers is called 'Dharma Lever' & it's been built by the Dharma team themselves.

Lever offers a user friendly way to borrow/lend both $ETH and $DAI at competitive rates.

3/ Dharma has underwriters that are trusted entities that collect market-determined fees for performing the following functions such as:

*Originating a debt order from a borrower
*Determining and negotiating the terms of the debt
*Servicing the debt

0/ There has been a lot of focus on Ethereum 2.0 (Serenity) over the last few months but not nearly enough focus on Eth1.0 and Eth1,x - I’m going to change that.

Eth1.x comes with four distinct upgrades:

-State rent
-eWASM
-Storage pruning
-Simulation and emulation

0/ There has been a lot of misinformation spread surrounding Ethereum's upcoming issuance reduction - codenamed the #Thirdening

In this thread, I’ll explain the process that Ethereum issuance reductions go through before they can be considered “consensus”.

1/ The issuance rate for Ethereum has been a constant talking point for years now. We can track discussions about a block reward reduction back to the 22nd of December 2016 when EIP-186 (github.com/ethereum/EIPs/…) outlined 3 possible issuance reductions and related schedules.
2/ This initial thread spurred lots of discussion in the community & many people joined in to offer substantive research on how a reduction in issuance would affect the security of the network. Discussions on this thread dropped off around August 2017 & continued in other areas.

Today, I’ll explain the types of DEXs in the world of Ethereum. There are 5 types:

*Off-chain order book (0x Relayers)

*On-chain order book (EtherDelta)

*Peer-to-peer (Kyber, AirSwap)

*Automatic market making (Uniswap)

*Child-chain (Gluon Plasma)
1/ First up is @0xproject.

0x is an open protocol for building DEXs. Developers build ‘relayers’ on top of the 0x protocol (such as @RadarRelay). 0x relayers have off-chain order books with trades happening on-chain and can also opt-in to share liquidity with each other.
2/ The original EtherDelta had an on-chain order book with on-chain settlement. It was the first widely used Ethereum-based decentralized exchange but due to everything happening on-chain, it was wildly slow and inefficient.

A) ICO launching platform.

ICOs are half dead. The SEC has been killing them. But the SEC is simply accelerating the inevitable, as most ICOs were either scams or money grabs.
3/ What happened is simple to understand. ICO promoters caught the fragrance of easy money and embarked on an unbridled $ printing race, by coming up with the most ridiculous ideas they could muster. Both the general public and venture funds gobbled these ideas enthusiastically.
