Yikes. A Republican judge's campaign says his opponent isn't an "Army veteran" because she served in the Army Reserve, not active duty. Then reporter @ProofHearsay says that's accurate. Which it isn't. At all. The @JournalSentinel needs to correct this. jsonline.com/story/news/pol…
.@geostanley You guys need to correct this smear straightaway. Anyone who served in the Army honorably on Active Duty, in the Reserve or National Guard is a veteran. Period.

Quick note on the primary: I've seen a number of Democrats implore fellow Dems to build up their preferred primary candidate instead of attacking or tearing down other Democratic candidates.
I have a different viewpoint. Got a candidate? Help them win. Got dirt on an opponent? Dish it. Let's hear it. Stop the collegial back-slapping and sharpen your political killer instinct.
It will:
1. help vet candidates thoroughly. If a candidate can't take the heat from another Democrat, he or she won't be able to fight off Trump attacks.

2. be good practice for winning in the general and in other races.

Short thread: Joe Biden won't apologize because he doesn't think he did anything wrong.

He says "social norms are changing." He says personal space is now "more important than it's ever been."

This isn't true. It was ALWAYS important to the people who felt uncomfortable.
Social norms allowed it, but that never made it right.

Same in other areas. 15 years ago, it was normal to call someone a "faggot." It was acceptable to the majority. But it was hurtful and threatening to a silent minority. It was *always* wrong, even if socially acceptable.
Or take slavery: Once socially acceptable to those in power, but *always* wrong to the powerless.

A powerful man invading a woman's space is not homophobia or slavery. But it's always been wrong. That alone makes it worthy of an apology. And I don't think that's a huge ask.

#FDR is arguably one of the most 'successful' #US Presidents. Some would argue that on the basis of his numerous social policies such as 'the New Deal'. Others, however, would argue that his role during the second world war was more prevalent to his success & everlasting legacy.

There's a lot about investigations, a counsel-approved statement about how well the school is "cooperating", and about "allegations" and "ascertaining the truth". This man says NOTHING about how the girls concerned are, how the students are in general, or of a care plan. /Thread
Remember: this is the exact same school where there was a massive fire less than a year ago. I threaded about that, guided by the media coverage at the time. I'll link that thread below.
These girls, who already had to deal with one massive security and care breach towards the end of last year while they were asleep (cause notwithstanding) are now having to deal with another tragedy. It is too much. It is TOO MUCH.
