The deadline when we finally meet crunch point is April 12th because that's when we have to tell Europe if we're doing European elections.
If the withdraw . . . hm. Let's choose our tenses.

WERE the withdrawal agreement accepted by April 12th, the Article 50 period can be extended to May 22nd to get the admin. up to date.
But we know the withdrawal agreement will never get through parliament. The DUP are against it, and as long as the DUP are against it, the ERG are against it, which means the whole 100 may as well vote against it.
So Theresa May's withdrawal agreement will never go back to parliament. That's the first thing. Whatever happens now will not be that.

And if Theresa May's deal is gone, then soon will Theresa May. It's obvious. Deal goes, she goes.
Now. The two week extension that Europe allowed us up until April 12th is nowhere near enough time for the Conservative Party to get a new leader and establish a new policy and get approval for it and find a mandate.

And that's very good news indeed because . . .
The Tories are now going to have to ask - if they haven't already - for the much longer extension that Europe offered us.
Which also means we will now be taking part in this year's European elections.

Therefore, Brexit is over.
The long extension together with the European elections, the collapsing support for Brexit at large, all these now mean that Brexit has failed.
Obviously the government hasn't announced that Brexit has failed. The English never announce things, which I think is a national sickness. It means your problems fester and turn poisonous.
Brexit is too big and public a problem to leave things unspoken. Its failure has to be announced.

The first thing you need is Theresa May's resignation.
You need to ask Europe for a long extension.
You need to announce in public that Brexit has proven itself impossible.
You need to confront the country with the options they've got - the only two they ever had.
You either pursue Brexit to the end, destroying both country and economy in the process.

Or else you admit it was a mistake.
So Theresa May resigns - preferably today. Ask Europe for a long extension, and hold another referendum.
