I’d almost bet money that’s the Pelosi plan. Very smart. Very legal. Very cool.
You could bring the un-redacted report to the floor, with Barr on the hot seat, and leak it right in front of the guy. “But sir, here’s what the report really said <blah blah blah> - explain to America how you weren’t obstructing justice when you tried to cover that up?”
I mean, seriously - we know there are multiple copies of the full report, spread out fairly broadly, right? That’s just basic opsec. Barr and the rest of them have to know it will come out eventually, and “eventually” will be “sooner” if he obstructs more blatantly.
And unlike some of the Trump knobs, Barr’s actually concerned about not getting charged with obstructing justice. You can tell by the language of the #BarrLetter, which was obviously pre-written and auditioned for Trump, but nonetheless took two whole days to finesse with report.
Example: narrow focus of Barr sentence that’s being quoted by our more credulous media as “no collusion.” Limited to Russian “government.” Those are the kind of words lawyers look for. - words that make testimony mean the opposite of what it’s meant to appear.
When you carefully avoid saying that Trump “did not conspire” with anyone outside the government in your planted sound bite sentence, what you’re really saying is “Trump’s campaign conspired like mad with Russian oligarchs and cutouts who did not have official government jobs.”
And that makes the occupant of the WH and his sleazy crime family America’s Public Enemy No. 1.
