Breaking: HUD has just charged Facebook with “encouraging, enabling, and causing housing discrimination through the company’s advertising platform.”

HUD is moving against Facebook.

We first reported in 2016 that Facebook allowed housing advertisers to exclude users by race.

Then in 2017, we found that—despite Facebook’s promised changes—it *still* let advertisers exclude users by race.

Earlier this month, Facebook announced sweeping changes to (really) stop landlords, employers, and lenders from discriminating in ads.

1/ Facebook just announced that its ad archive — until now for political ads — will expand to include all ads, if they're still active. You’ll be able search more ads running on the site. newsroom.fb.com/news/2019/03/a…
2/ Facebook says its goal is to “make advertising more transparent and to give people more information about the ads they see.”

Facebook has also added archives for other parts of the world, including India, Israel and EU countries. theguardian.com/technology/201…

#BREAKING: NY AG Barbara Underwood secures a stipulation dissolving the Trump Foundation under judicial supervision, w/ AG review to ensure charitable $ goes to reputable orgs. This is a key piece of the relief sought in her June suit.

The AG's suit remains ongoing.
Underwood: "Our petition detailed a shocking pattern of illegality...Trump Foundation functioned as little more than a checkbook to serve Trump's business & political interests."

Ongoing suit still seeks millions in restitution & penalties, bar on Trump & kids serving on boards.

Seems like a good time to remind everyone that multiple courts rejected Exxon's attempts to block @NewYorkStateAG's investigation as "political." A federal judge called Exxon's efforts "legal jiu jitsu," "implausible," "a wild stretch of logic," and a "huge waste" of time and $.
