A list of just some of the damage Brexit will inflict on the EU. Before you shout "nonsense", you should realise *why* these things will happen: we have hundreds of international agreements and treaties as part of the EU. All of them will cease to apply to the UK on Brexit Day.
Every single major consequence of Brexit can be traced directly back to one or other treaty. And there's no "easy fix" possible. Each one will have to be renegotiated from scratch. We will have to replicate, alone, the effort it took the whole EU working together over 40 years.

There is a majority against no-deal in the HOC. But that's in the abstract. Is there a majority to revoke (consequence of being against no-deal in extremis)? Who knows!

Even if that majority exists too, what MPs don't seem to have fully grasped is just how unkillable no-deal is.
It's worse than a cockroach. No-deal will happen by default. It requires no action from Parliament to happen. Instead, Parliament must proactively act to *stop* it.

But to do that MPs have to have control of business AND pass a binding motion. None of this weak indicative stuff.
They have control of business now, but they might not get it again (needs to be reaffirmed every time) if their purpose was to pass a binding "revoke Article 50" rather than conduct more indicative votes.

Events during Wednesday's 3rd Brexit indicative vote, if we even get that far, can play out one of two ways:
- A real compromise and ceasefire between PV supporters and soft Brexit supporters produces an actual majority. This requires no more games, fudge, waiting, subterfuge
OR
- The biggest opportunity we ever had to avoid a hard or no deal Brexit is utterly squandered by MPs thinking "there's always next time". Super dangerous stance. Highly likely Wednesday is *it* as far as Parliament's tolerance for the indicative vote process goes.
I hate saying it so much it's painful to type, but I think the dream of stopping Brexit entirely is dead. I believe that if it comes down to revoke or no-deal, Theresa May will choose no-deal to keep (more of) her party together. So everything should be seen through that prism.

It's sickening to see Brexiters strutting in interviews like they've just been named champions of the world. Practically salivating at the prospect of a no-deal Brexit. Rhetoric is sharpening by the hour.
But of course they're getting no-deal in 11 days, unless they're somehow stopped. And it's very hard to see how Parliament could stop it happening if Theresa May becomes actively antagonistic and seeks to thwart any attempt to block no-deal.

EU has almost given up trying to understand what’s going on in UK.
Dutch PM Rutte compares Theresa May to Monty Python knight whose limbs get cut off in a duel but insists the fight was a draw. Elsewhere in EU, mood is darker esp with the prospect of a lengthy #Brexit delay 1
With UK politics mired in confusion, only thing EU can control this week is choreography at EU leaders’ summit, starting Thurs. Donald Tusk, EU Council president is visiting capitals to try to co-ordinate single EU response if/when Theresa May asks for article 50 extension 2
Today Tusk is in Berlin and Paris – the EU superpowers. But when it comes to delaying Brexit, any one of the EU’s 27 leaders has a veto. The decision must be unanimous 3

conclusions. Here is some of the key thinking in European capitals on
the main #Brexit issues of the day: /1
On Labour/second referendum: Corbyn seen in Europe as convinced
eurosceptic so EU is sceptical of his backing a second referendum. EU
has watched #Brexit turmoil long enough to see huge complications in
holding the vote and realise many leave voters have changed their
mind. /2
Of course EU would still rather UK stayed but Europe's leaders don't
see this as realistically on the cards right now. Most realistic,
considering turmoil in Westminster, says EU council President Tusk:
would be to extend article 50 leaving process. /3

1. For me it's really not worth getting worked up about the customs union in May's deal. My main objection to it is that it's overkill for the very little it actually solves. That, though, is no reason to reject the deal. #Brexit thread
2. Supposing we are part of a customs union, yes the EU can negotiate preferential access to UK markets in terms of tariffs. Technically the other country doesn't have to reciprocate, but in most cases they will - because there is more to trade than tariffs.
3. In international relations, reciprocality is the norm, and where we don't find it, they can, to coin a phrase, go to the "back of the queue". Being free of the single market means we can grant certain regulatory preferences if we so wish.

2. The exclusion of the public from decisions relating to further integration. See Treaty of Lisbon.
