The AfD is has both an antisemitism and Islamophobia problem. Rees-Mogg shouldn't have gone near them, let alone endorse a speech by their leader
Some useful info here. Seems like AfD hug their antisemites close and when push comes to shove won't expel them and tend to obfuscate rather than object to antisemitic statements by members dw.com/en/afds-jews-s…
It's clear that Rees-Mogg as leader of the Tories would bring with him a tolerance for the populist European right (and Steve Bannon's 'Movement'). I think that is genuinely different and more frightening than some, not not all, of the other leadership candidates.
