This could turn out to be the most important moment of the Brexit endgame. I've tried to write it as fairly as possible.

Everything hinges on the meaning of this sentence.
We know the trick with May now. Deep textual analysis. Find the sentence that's doing the heavy lifting, see if there is any wriggle room in it.
Also fuck my life.
If that sentence means: Extension past May 22nd, but we'll try to get this all done by then, then great stuff - she has turned over a while new leaf.
If it means she will request an extension to May 22nd, the she can get to fuck. It's a trap.
My guess is it's the latter, because: the last three years. But shit, who knows? Maybe people can change.

I didn't really understand anything in it, certainly not the fashion, but it looked like what I wanted to escape to.
And then I moved to London, and lived in places with walls made of paper, and ate battered sausages for years, but whatever. I love that magazine. Very excited for it to come out again.

They were defeated last night in Westminster, Macron is not coming to rescue them in Brussels, and No.10 is admitting it needs to prepare for the European elections.
The possibility of no-deal is now in steep decline.

May is assuring people that the government will lay an order for the European elections next week - and then hope they can cancel it later.
Together with Lidington letter to Electoral Commission on preparation and Juncker etc ruling out short extension, suggests a no-deal trap increasingly unlikely.
Really encouraging. Lost in febrile atmosphere around Labour talks, but probably the most important development of the last 24-hours.

The increased support for a ‘no deal’ Brexit is the ultimate failure of the Leave movement. It’s the inevitable consequence of the refusal to grasp details, come to terms with complexity & coalesce around a plan. Compromise can be frustrating. So instead they will have a tantrum.
Some Brexiteers advocated sensible solutions. The EFTA/EEA solution gained a lot of traction in the years before the ref. Even Farage had promoted it & countless others. See Farage below from 2011 essentially making the ‘Liberal Leave’ case!

They don't want to vote w/ JC on any none PV resolution to #Brexit. 2 things can happen now as we get to the wire
1) May adopts JCs proposal, Labour backs the brexit deal, we're done. Brexit is solved & we can get on with a split & preparing left candidates to run against them 2/
2) May refuses to adopt JCs proposal and her same shit deal gets rejected again. Then a VoNC holds huge weight. The sabateurs skin crawls at the thought of voting for an election to happen that they'll be deselected in before it even begins. Lovely jubbly. 3/

#Brexit is more in doubt today than it was yesterday, more in doubt last week than it was last year. Opposition to it has grown slowly but steadly

2) The BBC's Nick Robinson put out this blog in April 2017, explaining the duty of the national broadcaster. The referendum was over, Remain was no longer an option and there was therefore no requirement for the BBC to report on anything other than variations of #Brexit
3) This judgement, that Remain was dead, was certainly suspect 18 months ago. Today, with #PeoplesVote on everyone's lips and the Brexit plan in tatters it appears to be a remarkable failure from the BBC news team, who have failed in their duty to inform in a balanced fashion

Brexit seems to be the solution to all our economic woes (short thread)

E.g., Hannan thinks that Brexit will be great because house prices will crash by 1/3. That will be great for first-time buyers, right?
Problem is last time house prices crashed (2008) home ownership in younger people did not increase. It decreased by quite a bit as can be seen in this graph. 2/
That's because housing prices are connected to lots of other things in the economy, such as job prospects, lending criteria. It's not that people in 2008 were like "Hey look, all those houses around us have become cheaper. Now we can finally buy!" 3/
