This is Malthouse A. And this
Is the Brady Amendment, which secured a majority,
Although it requires alternative arrangements. To the Irish backstop
Which we have not as yet got. The branches
Hold in the gardens their silent, eloquent gestures,
Which we have not as yet got.

This is no-deal, which was better than a bad deal
But now might not be. And do not subvert
The will of the people. They knew what they voted for
Even if we can’t agree. The blossoms
Are fragile and motionless, never subverting
The will of the people.

And this you can see is the People’s Vote. The purpose of this
Is not to reverse the result. It is merely
To check what everyone wants: we call this
The final say. And checking what everyone wants
The early bees are assaulting and fumbling the flowers:
They call it the final say.

Even if we can’t agree: like Malthouse,
And no-deal, and backstop, and extension,
Which we have not as yet got; and almond-blossom
Silent in all of the gardens and the bees going back and forth,
