everyone yelling "just go vegetarian" about the pork processing plant deregulation clearly hasn't spent much time in Missourah or Michigan.
great to yell that, but all it does is make you look like an out of touch "coastal elite," & in practice it won't do anything.
How do I know? I'm married to a pork-eating Michigander & I spend too much time in Missouri. And I don't eat pork. And that makes things rather challenging at parties and family gatherings.

So in my dystopia thread five days ago, I made this up (that US Gov got rid of @fdarecalls). Then I found out today from #GoodJournalism by @kimberlykindy that the trump admin is turning regulation/oversight of hog plants over to...the hog plants. That is dangerous as hell.
Not only will this negatively impact American consumers...
It will also negatively impact American farmers. Why? Because “self-policing” of meat processing plants inevitably means unsafe meat. And THAT will impact exports. Because who wants to buy unsafe meat? No one.

During the same time Fancy Bear was actively hacking the DNC and GOP, Trump Hotels' payment system was hacked not once, but twice, by unidentified hackers, stealing credit card data. Trump Hotels tried to cover it up.
This is of particular concern because of how much government business is being conducted at Mar-a-Lago that seems to also include club members
