So in my dystopia thread five days ago, I made this up (that US Gov got rid of @fdarecalls). Then I found out today from #GoodJournalism by @kimberlykindy that the trump admin is turning regulation/oversight of hog plants over to...the hog plants. That is dangerous as hell.
Not only will this negatively impact American consumers...
It will also negatively impact American farmers. Why? Because “self-policing” of meat processing plants inevitably means unsafe meat. And THAT will impact exports. Because who wants to buy unsafe meat? No one.
So this move is a big FU to American farmers by the tRUmp administration, & @TheDemocrats should work this messaging.
This is dangerous for consumers, AND for our economy, particularly for pork producers.

I’ll remind you that we, the US, have banned imports of particular meats from other countries bec it was deemed unsafe. This move by the tRUmp admin shows zero strategic planning for the future. They just want to burn everything down.
