The not-so-secret secret is that while Bernie Sanders did a rumpled-suit-softshoe about millyanahs and cheatahs gaming the system, he and Jane were making Gucci money.

Kinda kills the Springsteen-esque “union man” shtick when your tax returns show side income and a high bracket.
I’d be shocked if we ever see those returns.

Sanders shares some temperamental qualities with Trump. One of them is a total commitment to promoting a personal narrative.

Trump’s is that he’s rich. Sanders’ is that he’s not. Neither are as true as claimed.

A week before Mueller delivered his report to Barr, I heard whispers from a couple of media sources that they had been told the report was poised to be disappointing to Dems.

Shrugged it off at the time. After all, Mueller doesn’t leak... How would they know?

I’m now wondering if the Trump Admin / William Barr’s office / Trump’s allies were behind that whisper campaign to “soften the beachhead” for Barr’s whitewash.

The media was awfully quick to believe Mueller’s report had been a dud.

If Trumpland had preemptively teased the Mueller report would be a nothingburger, it would had paved the way for the Barr memo to be taken uncritically as true...

...because reporters had been prepped to expect something like it.

Ya know what would be a crazy Hollywood ending?

If Mueller gave Barr just enough rope to tie up the whole obstruction conspiracy with his report shenanigans.

If the book was delivered unfinished because Barr unknowingly was the final chapter.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this remotely close to possible.

However, since this Crazytime in the epoch of madness, nothing too crazy to be a wild longshot.
But, ya gotta admit, it would be a story for the ages if mild mannered Rod Rosenstein turned out to be this mob movie’s Donnie Brasco.

We don’t have that luck and this movie is a horror not a thriller though.

At the risk of sounding condescending I feel like there are 4 things we should ask in this primary.

1. What are your policies ?

2. Are you proposing them in good faith?

3. Will you be effective in implimenting them?

4. are you fit for office?

This needs unpacking...

Whether a politician is seen as operating in good faith is often tied to whether we think a politician is "authentic."

This shit is huuuuuuugely sexist and priveledges men over women.

How is it POSSIBLE that these folks missed the blue wave which was fundamentally female--driven by women voters?
Not just driven by women voters, but driven by women candidates. Left-leaning women candidates, including WOC who ousted long-time older white male incumbents like....Bernie Sanders.

How is anyone missing this fact?
It's a major reason why Sanders' numbers have plummeted.

I did an entire thread to the Manafort - Devine connection.

It was recently revealed that Devine was sharing polling data with Manafort during the primary. They are all in this together & the media ignores it purposely.

1/ After it was revealed on @maddow that Manafort/Russia was working as far back as 2012 to smear Hillary Clinton it made more sense.

Think about this. Who was going to primary against Pres Obama in 2012? Bernie Sanders
2/ Why didn't #Sanders follow through? My opinion based on the timeline of events & the extensive research I have done on #TadDevine, is that Sanders was told to hold off until 2016 by Devine. We know that Devine was working with #Manafort on the Ukraine election during this time

allow me to explain:

first thing to realize is that compromise usually involved splitting the difference (e.g. arbitration -- if you've ever been privy, you know exactly what i mean).

next you need to understate that starting positions matter
now we come to the republicans..

they know to start out WAY to the right of anything sane

democrats, being slightly more reasonable tend to open with somthing they thing will win the other side over to their POV.

... it ... will ... not ....

so this happens.
after a few years of this (say since 1980) you end up with both parties being FAR to the right of anything that a rational person would consider CENTER

enter #bernie sanders and his populist, moderate policy positions like #medicareforall or raising the minimum wage
