Haftar is making his move on Tripoli using UAE supplied weapons and African mercenaries.
He has support in Garyan about 80 click south of Tripoli but the Misratans are getting gunned up and are already entering Tripoli. Sirraj says he is going to bomb folks.This should get ugly.
Haftar's people are thugs, It is the Misratans the Libyans who tossed Qaddafi and ISIS. Sadly America has no ground game there. When I met with State Dept they were amazed that I traveled anywhere and offered robust ground network. The Euros run the show there, but badly. 
The US has a tiny footprint in Misrata supplied out of Germany, The Italians are there too. Qatar and Turkey have been shipping weapons to Haftar's opposition. Tripoli is the prize due to the banks and seat of govt. The oil comes later. Let's see if Haftar has sorted out C&C.

Haftar is an American citizen but you don't hear much talk of that. His son's name is Saddam...and he does most of the money work. In December 2011, Saddam led a hit on the Al-Aman Bank in Tripoli and in 2017 cleaned out the Benghazi bank. middleeastmonitor.com/20180914-hafta…
I was invited to do a profile but I passed. When I was in Misrata I was asked to help save the lives of a group of innocent people targeted as terrorists. They were killed before I could get there. Plenty more stories but sorry not a fan of the clan. newyorker.com/magazine/2015/…
