Q: Can you use channels to mix coins?
A: You can use cross-chain atomic swaps on the LN between different blockchains e.g. BTC/LTC. But one thing that's the hardest part is to set up is an exchange rate.

"In the 1st year, Bitrefill had meaningful funds in on our channels w/out backups which was kind of reckless. But recently Static Channel Backups was merged. It's not perfect because you trust your peers, but it's still better than nothing. I sleep better at night because of it."

"In production, you should run multiple #LightningNetwork nodes. I run 2 lnd nodes and an eclair node. It limits the risk or even can eliminate the risk of service downtime."
