So this person was making an attempt to prove that there is no such thing as a #MexicanHegemony based on the larger number of Mexican nationals deported by the U.S. in 2016. Allow me to amplify the issue a bit... 
1) Unlike the Mexican migration experience, Central American migrants have to contend with TWO whole nation state apparatuses acting against their migration. So in 2016, sure the U.S. deported 149,821 Mex. nationals, but the U.S. & Mex together deported 226,507 Central Americans
2) Even speaking solely in terms of the U.S., relative to their respective U.S.-based population sizes, Guatemalan, Salvadoran, and Honduran communities experience higher deportation rates than their Mexican counterparts.
3) Given the enormous size of the Mex. pop. in the U.S., deporting 100K Mexicans wouldn't have a significant impact on Mexico's remittance-based economy. Whereas deportation of hundreds-of-thousands of Cent Ams continues to have disastrous consequences on their local economies.
4) Mexican gov negotiated & utilized Central Americans as bargaining chips to prevent loss of remittances from Mexican nationals living in U.S. Mexico as a nation state has negotiation power with the U.S. Central America DOES NOT.
5) No one is saying that the Mexican hegemony is as big & terrible as the primary U.S.-capitalist/white supremacist hegemony. But when dealing with a relatively smaller Cent Am population, decisions made by Mex. government, media, & its people have life/death consequences for us
6) No one is saying every Mexican is responsible for Central Americans getting deported/beaten/raped/murdered in Mexico. But when millions of Mexicans turn a blind eye, get dismissive, or defensive when we bring up how Cent Ams are treated, it creates a virtual wall of silence.
