Every Premier League club is *supposed* to be shown live on UK TV at least 10 times each season. Every season, several aren't. This is one of the (more minor) reasons underpinning growing inequity of resources and a chasm in competitiveness, top to bottom
Last season, for example, "Big 6' (also the top 6) not only earned combined PL cash of £202,783,140 on 'merit' (placing) v £40,556,628 for the bottom 6, but they pocketed £187,993,813 in TV fees (161 games) v £75,005,875 for 6 clubs showed least (56 games)
From nxt season, when overseas TV£ also stops being shared equally & a chunk is divided on placing, the 'Big' clubs will get disproportionately rewarded even more. When one of your strengths as a league for 27 yrs is relative equality of TV cash, that's poor.

The money PSG got from Qatar's Tourism Authority in sponsorship - that helped them buy their success: €215m a year.
The true market value of that deal according to the leaked documents: €2.78m a year.

Leaked papers also show UEFA inspectors found Man City "had hidden 35 million euros in costs from UEFA"; and some Abu Dhabi commercial deals were 80% inflated. PSG and City both threatened UEFA legal action. Gianni Infantino (then at UEFA) did deal to go soft
It's obviously not new that PSG and City broke FFP rules, blatantly, tried to cover that up, got punished, and didn't appeal cos they were guilty. But the new leaks officially confirm the nuts and bolts, and add detail. Beautiful game.

Middlesbrough’s 2017/18 financial results covered the season after relegation from the Premier League when they reached the Championship play-offs by finishing 5th before losing in the semi-finals. Tony Pulis replaced Garry Monk as manager in December. Some thoughts follow #Boro
Following relegation #Boro moved from a pre-tax £6.9m profit to a £6.4m loss, as revenue halved from £121m to £62m, though profit on player sales was up £4m to £15m. After tax, the decline was even steeper (from £11.5m profit to £6.6m loss), due to prior year’s £4.6m tax credit.
#Boro £59m revenue decline was very largely driven by broadcasting’s £55m fall from £102m to £47m, as the £42m parachute payment was much lower than Premier League £99m distribution. Commercial also decreased £2.9m (26%) to £8.3m and match day was down £1.6m (18%) at £7.1m.

West Ham’s 2017/18 financial results covered their second season at the new London Stadium, which the club described as “difficult”, despite finishing a “satisfactory” 13th in the Premier League, as managers Slaven Bilic and David Moyes both left. Some thoughts follow #WHUFC
#WHUFC profit before tax reduced by £25m from £43m to £18m, as revenue fell by £8m (4%) to £175m, though profit on player sales was up £2m to £30m. Despite the revenue decline, wages increased by £12m (12%) to £107m, but player amortisation dropped £4m (10%) to £41m.
All #WHUFC revenue streams decreased: match receipts were £4.1m (14%) lower at £24.5m, due to no Europa League; while commercial fell £3m (9%) to £32m, mainly due to one-offs in the previous year; and broadcasting was slightly lower at £119m, due to lower Premier League place.

Everton’s 2017/18 financial results covered a season when they finished 8th in the Premier League and competed in the Europa League, but also saw the sacking of two managers: Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce. Majority owner Farhad Moshiri has provided around £250m of funding #EFC
#EFC went from a profit of £31m to a loss of £13m, a £44m deterioration, despite revenue growing by 10% (£18m) to a record £189m and profit on player sales up £36m to £88m, due to a huge increase (£70m) in player costs (wages & player amortisation) and £34m of exceptional items.
All #EFC revenue streams rose: broadcasting was up £12m (9%) to £142m; commercial up £4m (14%) to £31m; and gate receipts up £2m (16%) to £16m. Note that I have reclassified Europa League money from Other Commercial to Broadcasting to be consistent with other clubs.

Manchester United are the second Premier League club after #MCFC to publish 2017/18 financial results, covering a season when they were runners-up in the league and FA Cup, but were eliminated by Sevilla in the Champions League last 16. Some thoughts in the following thread #MUFC
#MUFC profit before tax down from £57m to £26m, mainly due to higher player costs, as wage bill shot up £32m and player amortisation rose £14m, while revenue only up £9m. Tax bill increased from £17m to £63m as a change in US corporate tax rate led to a £49m non-cash write-off.
#MUFC revenue only grew £9m (2%). Only meaningful increase was broadcasting, up £10m (5%) to £204m. Commercial income was basically flat at £276m, while match day dropped £2m (2%) to £110m. Profit on player sales rose £7m to £18m.

Air boxing by top #UK officials is amazing. Who punching at? Unlike in London, #Brexit never been much fight in Brussels, more lament. When some urged penalty in financial settlement, EU ignored & just tabbed up #'s. Citizen rights a 2-way street. Other stuff mainly logistical..
Point again is not to take any side, but merely point out Brussels has had consistent principles, goals & negotiating positions from the start. London still has no consensus on final objective. No one I know in #EU has advocated for "no deal" but some in #UK actually do that...
Have had many many long conversations w/ top London colleagues. Am very conscious of all arguments & concerns on #UK side, incl over Northern Ireland. But even in no deal scenario, #UK will end up facing exact same choice on future relationship w/ EU as now, but w/o transition...

Following promotion to Premier League #Boro converted pre-tax £32.0m loss to £6.9m profit, as revenue increased by £100m to a record £121m and profit on player sales was up £7m to £11m. After tax, profit was £11.5m, compared to £25.9m loss in 15/16, thanks to a £4.6m tax credit.
#Boro £100m revenue growth was very largely driven by broadcasting’s £95m increase to £102m, due to the much higher money in the Premier League (plus first year on new deal), while commercial also increased £3.1m (39%) to £11.1 m and gate receipts were £1.4m (20%) up at £8.7m.
