Most of the “rest of America” that you’re talking about will see Buttigieg as a “Harvard elite” and an abomination before their interpretation of the Lord. Being a good “red-state whisperer” is the LEAST necessary trait in a Democratic POTUS candidate in this day and age.
It’s been shown time and again that red state voters will not vote in their own interest—they voted for Trump, who has given them nothing! They’re going to vote for him again!
The only solution is to OVERVOTE them by nominating a ticket that will consolidate and thrill the base.
