For example...I still think Louis CK's content is outstanding. But I don't use his stuff to make political points anymore because I know what he did (#MeToo) & I know how people see him.
So when you cite people who most consider to be Nazis as authorities on a political issue...
Just been on the phone to my German mate to confirm. Generally considered Neo-Nazis. Several back benchers have proven ties to Neo-Nazi groups. A top MP Björn höcke wanted the holocaust memorial removed from Berlin. And the youth Wing is under surveillance by the authorities.
But one of the most influential politicians in our country thinks they should be cited for political guidance.
But the truly concerning thing is the replies I've had when pointing out....
People telling me they're not really neos.
It's almost as if a leading figure in a mainstream party tacitly endorsing them, sends a message they're acceptable within the mainstream.
Personal note for those of us who value knowing for sure that the information we believe is sound. This was one of the names my mate mentioned. Comforting to get the same answer from completely different sources.

If you believe the UK has a moral entitlement to be able to trade within the European Union just as easily as any EU country, then if Brexit leads to us losing that ability, you'll think the EU must have mistreated us in the negotiations.
For example....
Maybe I'm being unfair? Maybe it's not English exceptionalism. Maybe it's from such an ingrained belief that Brexit can't possibly have consequences that the moment those consequences became apparent in the negotiations, it simply HAD to be the EU intentionally causing trouble.

UKIP is currently lead by a man who called Islam a death cult on #Marr and who works with Tommy Robinson.
The Brexit Party is led by a man who this video proves is racist.

If you don't turn up to the #EuropeanElections THEY will be the ones representing us on the European stage!
UKIP doesn't win General Elections, but they won the 2014 #EuropeanElections because only 34% of us bothered to turn up.

Can we maybe elect some MEPs that actually reflect true British values, rather than a bunch of 1930s tribute acts?

B) I've known this woman for years, told me she was basically done with being a comic. She was tired of going up against the boys club...exhausted with being made to prove herself -- something successful male comics don't have to do -- after over 15 years in the biz..
C) Not sharing exactly how long she's been in the business because i don't want people guessing who it is. But as I read this message from her I got emotional because successful male comics don't ever have these thoughts. They don't feel beaten down by the business...

And now that a side hug has overshadowed real victims of violence and retaliation, the #MeToo movement is over, and the fallout has begun.
Maybe it's different for me because this isn't theoretical. This is the working environment I inhabit. Because Franken was not offered due process, any man knows he can't expect it either. The only way to avoid a similar fate is the Pence rule, don't be alone with women.
The fear that someone could appear from your past and claim something ridiculous happened that you don't remember and thus can't defend yourself is very real.
