Why has Barr not recused himself?

Right up until Barr was confirmed as AG, he worked at Kirkland & Ellis LLP which represented Russia’s Alfa Bank.

Barr earned more than $1 million at the firm in that last two years.
It's the *appearance* of a conflict that should require a recusal.

Why did he seek this job? Did his former employer encourage it?
When he used the term "spying" in the senate hearing last week, did he know was the same word used by far-right networks who want to discredit the probe b/c of the Steele dossier?

He's certainly aware the dossier contains information about Alfa Bank.
