A thread on the curious cases of Rubina Memon and Pragya Thakur: In 1993 Mumbai Bomb blasts many vehicles were used by Dawood Ibrahim & Tiger Memon to carry off blasts across the city. A Maruti Van which was being used to transport RDX & other ammunition was found abandoned(1/11)

The vehicle was abandoned by the assailants after a grenade was accidentally unpinned which they threw off & ran away in panic. This Maruti Van became the opening for investigation agencies. The registration of the vehicle was traced on the name of Rubina Memon. (2/11)

Rubina Memon is the sister in-law of Tiger Menon (in Pakistan) and Yakub Memon (hanged in 2016). The vehicle threw open all the links!

But the investigations further revealed that Rubina Memon had no other role in the blasts apart from the fact that her vehicle was used. (3/11)

Rubina Memon was found guilty—for her vehicle was used to carry explosives & ammunition, knowingly or unknowingly, to carry out blasts. On the basis of evidences & law, the court sentenced Rubina Memon to life imprisonment and she is at the moment serving her sentence. (4/11)

Similarly, in 2008 Malegaon blast, an LML Freedom motorcycle was used to carry out the attack, killing six persons and injuring others. This motorcycle became the key for investigating agencies and revealed all the links in the Malegaon blast, just like in Mumbai blasts. (5/11)

The said motorcycle didn't have a registration plate. The chesi-number was partly damaged and an expert was called in, who gave 3 probable numbers. One number was of a truck, the other of another vehicle and third was of a LML Freedom motorbike owned by Pragya Thakur. (6/11)

Pragya Thakur was arrested since her vehicle was used and further investigations revealed that she was in fact part of the entire terror attack

Before the 2008 Malegaon blasts and after 2006 blasts in Malegaon, an infrastructure was setup for surveillance by the agencies. (7/11)

After the 2008 blast, on one such intercepted call a woman was heard saying "I asked you not to use my motorcycle and if you did, why only 6 died?" The call was traced to Pragya Thakur. Another evidence! (8/11)

The ATS submitted the copy of the recordings (many) as well as the transcripts, along with other evidences, which is in the possession of the court.

After 2014, NIA under pressure sough acquittal of Pragya Thakur citing lack of evidence. The court however refused. (9/11)

In 2017, Pragya Thakur was granted bail on health grounds. She has not been acquitted yet and is still accused of act of terror.

Pragya Thakur's vehicle was used to execute a terror attack just like Rubina Memon's. Pragya was in fact part of the entire terror attack. (10/11)

If Rubina Memon can be sentenced for her vehicle's involvement in a terror attack, shouldn't Pragya Thakur be in jail for the same & for her further involvement in attack?

Instead, Pragya Thakur has been fielded as a Lok Sabha candidate for the BJP by PM Modi & Amit Shah (11/11)
