Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been harassing Randeep Hothi for months. Why? Because @elonmusk is a malignant narcissist, with a history of repeated multi-billion dollar securities frauds, and Randeep has been, using completely legal means, gathering data documenting Elon's lies. 
Elon Musk's behavior has been consistent and abhorrent. When Tesla employee Martin Tripp became a whistleblower, Musk threatened him, and was responsible for concocting a false police report of an "active shooter threat." arstechnica.com/tech-policy/20…
Having been unable to silence Randeep for months, while he's revealed data about Tesla production numbers and other thorns in Elon's side, Musk has changed tactics. Instead of using his own hired goons to harass Randeep, he's now using the police, using false police reports.
Tesla security invented from whole cloth an episode in which Randeep ran over a security guard in the Fremont parking lot, and used this false report to obtain a restraining order.
The episode described by Tesla did not happen. Randeep was asked to leave the Tesla parking lot and he left it, peacefully. There was no physical contact between Randeep and security, nor between Randeep's vehicle and security. Any statement otherwise is a fabrication and a lie.
What has happened is police repeatedly visiting Randeep's parents. @elonmusk tried to harass Randeep through his brother; that failed spectacularly, so now he's trying the parents.
Rather ridiculously, part of the basis for the restraining order against Randeep is that he is a "short-seller" who has posted information about Tesla online, and has expressed interest in the full-self-driving demo.
This attempt by @elonmusk to suppress any truthful information that contradicts his many lies, even if it means lying to police about a 20-something grad student, cannot be allowed to stand. Tesla full-self driving doesn't work. It kills people.
I will not allow sociopath @elonmusk to use his billions to bully my friend. Count me in big for Randeep's legal defense. I am looking forward to seeing this play out in court and in the media, as I know my friend is a peaceful, truth-seeking person, whereas Musk is just a fraud.
