We worked hard to build a Dem majority in the House, including many hard fought red districts, put in peril if Dems start impeachment now.

When facing real electoral consequences, why insist on impeachment now if we have no chance of removing Trump without the Senate?
1)

3 mos of House control, televised hearings continue to expose Trump’s lawlessness. Dems prepare for hard court fights over subpoenas, particularly the full Mueller report.

The narrative that Dems are idle, not using every practical tool available to them, is false.
2)

There may come a time when impeachment is the only way. The courts may deny the Mueller report subpoena, and impeachment may be the only way to get access to grand jury testimony.

Why put our hard fought red district seats in jeopardy by putting the cart before the horse?

Please don’t skewer me. I get it. We’re spooked. We’re impatient. The Mueller report, even redacted, was damning.

The hard truth is, with GOP support and control of the Senate, Trump will serve out his term. Our only chance of removing him is at the ballot.
Why jeopardize it?

There are plenty who will still want to push for impeachment. I get that too. Call your reps & tell them so.

Please, I’m begging you, do not attack the leaders we fought so hard to elect for making the hard decisions we charged them with.
They need our support more than ever.

At this point, in my view, we only stand to lose from impeachment. That may change, but now it only diminishes our chances in 2020, and without a chance of removing Trump, it makes no sense.

That seems to be what Nancy thinks too. Trust in Nancy. She knows what she’s doing.

There are many people out there who believe they know better than Dem leadership. None have more experience or political knowledge than the leaders we fought so hard for to make decisions like this.

I stand ready to support impeachment when they judge the time is right.
