I'm not really investing any time in the 2020 Democratic primary because it's too far away for anything to mean anything. Four years ago right now, the GOP race was a heat between Jeb Bush and Scott Walker, and Trump hadn't declared. Walker didn't even make it to Iowa.
Other than building up enough recognition to get into the first debate, none of this matters. And most of the Dem candidates already have it. The only one who's really benefiting from this endless churn is Buttiegeg, and he's got no real shot at the nomination.
Biden is a perfect example of this: he's a good guy and has done a lot of good for America. But he's also out of step with the modern Democratic party, and has little enthusiasm behind his push for the nomination. We're talking about him because of who he was, not who he is.

Seriously, if Alex Jones, Prison Paul, Laura Loomer, and Milo all vanished from the internet without a trace, the world would be 10000% better. Don't even try debating this.
What would the internet be without racists, abuse, misogyny, conspiracy theories, violent fantasies, and endless hatred? Can you even imagine the free and open exchange of ideas that would foster? Is it something we even dare dream about?

This is just a tiny sample of the definitely not antisemitic violent threats, conspiracy theories, and centuries-old blood libel QAnon believers fill my mentions with every day. Because they just hate THIS wealthy Jewish family, not ALL wealthy Jewish families. Right?
Who do these people think first called the Rothschilds satanists, or puppet masters, or killers of Christian children? Who came up with the idea that they sold weapons to both sides of every war, or bought every central bank on earth? Did it just materialize out of thin air?
These accusations were invented by haters of Jews to smear a Jewish family that dared to succeed in fields that middle ages Christians found ungodly. When you repeat them now, you are engaging in the same tactics, centuries later. Ergo, you are antisemitic.

I (and others) have found what *might* be a manifesto from the Poway shooter. The link is from 8chan, and should be taken with a truckload of skepticism. But if real, it's a truly disturbing rant full of references to "anons," memes and murder.
There's a Facebook page named in the 8chan thread, but it's already down. I can't find anything else on the guy. The manifesto is a pretty close copy of the Christchurch manifesto, but shorter, and totally focused on Jews. Again, no confirmation it's real.
Confirmed, it's him. Damn it. Christchurch officially has a copycat.

This is a message that seems well-calibrated for the universe of those Morning Joe panels where they have on a bunch of Bush-era Republicans who all assure us that decent people from all walks of life despise Trump.
It’s a universe that’s easy to dismiss on here but I think will be very powerful for the very large share of Democrats who are senior citizens and not really being targeted by much of the current field.
Last thing about the Biden video is so much of the pitch from his circle has been about electability but this strategy of deliberately elevating the salience of racial over economic conflict is one almost all factions of the party thinks doesn’t work in the key states.

2) It is also the method that Social Democrats use most often. It is the route through which anyone seeking to take advantage of you pursues. It may not be the most obvious fear, but they PREY upon it relentlessly.

Maybe y'all can help me out here. I think I'm going a little bananas. Why, precisely, do we let Xavier Pi-Sunyer walk around when dude has repeatedly racked up a higher and higher bodycount when it comes to diet culture?
This dude's name comes up in every piece of consumer protection literature, every book exposing how corporations influence medicine, and just about every fat studies book that touches on "Obesity Inc."
And it shouldn't surprise me that it does.

My dude has consistently put profits over the sanctity of human life.

He's a bad doctor.

And we keep letting him do it.
