Overturning unfair district maps drawn up by Repub state legislatures is one of the most effective ways to flip House seats blue.

This ruling stands to quickly impact the shape of Michigan's 2020 House races. Some previously noncompetitive districts will look newly winnable.

In Pennsylvania last year, a court ordered redrawing of the state's House districts helped push some R's out of seeking re-election and helped D's flip several seats.

Before: 13 R - 5 D
After: 9 R - 9 D

A ruling is pending re: N. Carolina's ridiculously racist gerrymander. I haven't followed those proceedings closely but precedent is being set to finally throw out egregious maps.

But we have to win state races and governorships to be in a position to redraw the maps...

Mike Pence reminds me of a guy I with in my 20’s.

He was in his 50’s but when he was young, he had been a monk. A novitiate rather. A monk in training.

He had these insane stories about being a young monk trainee with a bunch of other, uh, monklets, I guess...

All day, they’d be these incredibly serious, devout students of piety toiling silently in their chores and studies.

When they finished their monkwork, they were allowed to talk but only to each other and only for an hour.

He said the monks-in-training would get in a room and just... unload... feverishly talking over each other in dueling firehoses of the most vile, depraved filth you can imagine.

Then the bell would ring and they’d go back to being monkish.

Last year, the Trump Administration proposed adding a question to the census that would have forced every American household to record whether they and other members of their household were US citizens. 2/
Judge Furman struck this down, but not because it’s unconstitutional or a very bad idea, but because they were sloppy in how they made the decision. This can – and almost certainly will – be appealed by the Trump Administration, likely up to the conservative-leaning SCOTUS 3/

One of the most effective ways of assessing whether someone has an abusive personality type is to observe their social media interaction over time, particularly how they respond to criticism.There are significant ‘tells’ which indicate a personality type that needs to be avoided.
Obvious behaviour such as trolling, flaming, cyber bullying and cyber harassment are easy *red flags* to watch out for but, even so , are often dismissed as free-speech or banter or seen as less serious because they happen online. BUT online IS IRL (in real life)
There a number of other ‘tells’ which, though less obvious, are often combined with other traits that help build a picture of an online personality. In short: You are not only what you tweet but HOW you tweet it and your online interaction with others plays a significant part.

The citizenship question has not been included in a decennial Census since 1950.

Courts have long mandated that US House districts be drawn based on total population, assuring all populations would be fairly represented whether they voted or not.

But in 2016, the Supreme Court left open the option for states to draw districts based only on eligible voter populations.

In comes the tRump Admin, advocating for the inclusion of the citizenship question on the Census form!
