/ Last week I tweeted a question about tips and tactics for emailing enterprise buyers. Lots of people replied with advice. Below is a brief summary of the replies.
/ People reported that multiple channels can work for cold outreach: email, LinkedIn, even cold calling. If one channel doesn't work for a specific target, try another. Be persistent, but not annoying.
/ Target people for whom the problem you're solving is a huge, daily pain point. You can also try targeting one level above them ("who on your team should I talk to about this problem?")
/ Personalize messages and be authentic. Do as much research as you reasonably can before reaching out to an exec who is super busy.
/ Be concise. Several comments offered heuristics like "concise enough to be read on a smartphone without scrolling" and "short enough to be read on mobile and responded to quickly."
/ Skip collateral for the first email, or at most include a one-pager.
/ Mentioning case study results and logos of customers you work with is effective. Especially if the customers you mention are peers of or similar to the company you're contacting.
/ Content-wise, briefly describe the problem and how you solve it. Ideally mention how you solve it for people just like them or companies just like theirs.
/ Finally, the most upvoted comment in the thread, by far, was this great post from @JaapVergote:
