These are the problems:

1. The gas companies aren't being paid accordingly by Gencos, so they prefer to export their gas

2. The Gencos aren't being paid accordingly by Discos, so they prefer to export their power

3. The Discos want the cost of power to be increased, but still
want to maintain estimated billing.

4. The Govt wants all consumers to have prepaid meters before prices can go up, lest there be a public revolt against it

5. The Discos are resistant to the idea of universal prepaid meter coverage, because it will decimate their revenue
6. The Discos are relying on increased prices to help access needed capital to upgrade their system

SUMMARY:

i. All customers MUST be metered so that prices can be raised to cost reflective levels

ii. Discos must then pay for all power consumed without rejecting any loads
iii. NERC and NBET must then ensure that all other industry players (ie TCN, Gencos and Gas companies) are fully paid for their services.

Thjs is the only way to secure adequate power for the Nigerian economy.

End.
