I know I've gone on abt it a lot, but I still can't get over the fact that Tory MPs preferred to see the end of the Tory Party, Corbyn as PM & the end of our political system to letting the UK truly leave the EU (aka "No Deal"). I wld never hv guessed that in June 2016.
If the Tory Party were to somehow survive this it'll be utterly toxic. No-one cld or will trust anything abt it ever again. Not its manifestos. Not its leader's promises. Not its MPs' selection meeting speeches. Not its general impression & philosophy. Nothing abt it. Ever again.

On Thursday I'll vote for a Tory councillor if he/she says openly she/he'll vote @brexitparty_uk on 23rd May. Otherwise I'll abstain. If you're an ex-Tory like me, I suggest you do the same. The Tory Party has to end, & end quickly, if we're to stop Corbyn.
@brexitparty_uk I know that'll have negative implications for how local services are run for years. But the bigger picture here has to be stopping Corbyn at Westminster. For that to happen the Tory Party must, very rapidly & with cost along the way, be torn up by its roots.
@brexitparty_uk Note that the key feature of this is an open declaration for @brexitparty_uk & thus expulsion from the Conservative Party. We shld vote for council candidates who, to get our votes, de facto quit their current parties. Otherwise abstain.

Interesting to note that the key feature of this poll relative to the previous YouGov one is the tanking of the Ukip vote as folk realise Farage isn't Ukip any more. Ukip cld well drop further yet.
A big thing from the @YouGov poll: the Conservatives have more support from Remainers (16%) than Leavers (14%) for the Euro elections. The Tories are a Remain party now even in voting support terms. d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_upload…

There's an argument to be made specifically opposite to @DanielJHannan's: that it's crucial the Tories are destroyed utterly, early, so they're forced to accept their party cannot win another General Election & their MPs & voters move on to some other party that *can* stop Corbyn
@DanielJHannan MPs had *no right* to decide that just cos May agreed a terrible deal Brexit'd be cancelled. But they did. So someone's gotta pay. Ultimately the buck stops with the Conservative Party cos it was in charge. So the Conservative Party must be destroyed.
@DanielJHannan And it's no good saying "But Tory MPs didn't want to cancel Brexit". 200 Tory MPs voted to keep May as PM last December specifically because they believed she wld cancel leaving rather than accept no deal. They cannot pretend this was not their fault & deliberate intention.
