Religious folks are trying to take over & shame people (mostly women) on this #GetWhatYouWant hashtag/campaign @KYBrand is doing for women to talk about getting the kind of sex & pleasure they desire.
I was raised in a Catholic household (plus 12 years of Catholic school) where my body, sexuality & pleasure were constantly shamed & silenced. It will take me a lifetime to work against that shame of fatness, of queerness, of femme sex appeal, of my enjoyment of orgasms & kink.
I didn’t have sex until I was 19, but my teen years were full of shame about masturbation, porn, & letting boys touch my breasts when we made out. I felt so much guilt about taking pleasure in my body. So much time wasted feeling bad for feeling good. Never again.
I am a proudly queer, kinky, fat, black polyamorous woman who refuses to be less, feel less, enjoy less than I want, than I deserve. #GetWhatYouWant folks (of all genders), consensually, ethically, of course, but get it.
What our culture needs is more mature, complex, open & vulnerable conversations & representations of sex rather than the simplistic, fake, racist, ableist, heteropatriarchal shit we’ve all been fed & poisoned by this far. #TalkAboutSex #SexPositivity #FeministSex
