The metric that people use for "activity" is layer 1 transactions per day/month. This is TOTALLY WRONG.

For the same reason you don't measure a web2 app by how many database writes it does, layer 1 transactions is NOT the right metric to measure dapp adoption.

* Active users
* Bounty completion rate
* Platform value over time
* Hourly Rates

I saw pictures of the classroom Success learns from and I wept. Sapele is an oil producing area. Where does the 13% oil revenue derivation cash go?
What do children need to do to get an education?

Not every child has the temperament or charisma needed to pull off a viral video of that nature.

And even if they all did, do children need to put themselves out there to get what should be a fundamental right?

2/ First, let's acknowledge it as a "theory" even though it wasn't clearly labelled as such.

A theory is just a plausible principle offered to explain phenomena.
3/ In Joel's case -- @jmonegro penned the original theory -- he was observing the phenomena that #Bitcoin and #Ethereum both had market caps that far exceeded the value of applications built on top of either protocol.

In some US cities where kids are at risk of suicide or gang initiation, the community leaders realised something. Many children do not turn to gangs or suicide because of adversity.
Rather, some do so because they feel alone. Others, because they have no options and the flicker of hope has finally gone out.

THREAD: there is no one way to be a writer, no one way to tell a story, no one way to do this thing we do as a hobby or as a job or as an art form. Some write a little every day, in an office; some write a lot at one time at varying, sporadic points. It's all okay.
I think it's important to challenge all pieces of "Known Writing Advice," all those chestnuts of Vital Lore, and to see what they are and what works for you. We all have our own weird fingerprints to imprint upon this thing we do.
I think it IS important to talk about the things you do and the processes you use to write and tell a story and to hold them up and examine them -- share them with others, and listen to their ways of doing things, too.
