1. Giuliani's smear against Biden, which was featured on the front page of the NYT, is falling apart.

Biden pressured Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor a YEAR AFTER the gov't decided not to prosecute an energy company affiliated with Biden's son

Poof.

2. One thing that is interesting that happens in these situations is that NOTHING EVER HAPPENS

The NYT never addresses its journalistic failures or grapples with what it means to be taken for a ride by Rudy

It never reassesses its reliance on access to people like Rudy
3. As I detail in this thread. This is just one of several warmed over stories that Rudy convinced the NYT to run on A1 of the paper.

It's the beginning of the journalistic failure, not the end

4. If you are looking to support an alternative model that is not based on access, check out my newsletter Popular Information. We still have scoops. They just come from primary source documents and ordinary people.

5. You'll be shocked but Ken Vogel, the NYT reporter behind this now debunked story, has not addressed the timeline issue

Biden couldn't have helped his son because the case was already dropped
6. FYI, this would have been good to mention: "The case against Zlochevsky and his Burisma Holdings was assigned to Shokin, then a deputy prosecutor. But Shokin and others weren’t pursuing it, according to the internal reports from the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office"
7. The whole sorry situation reminds me of when the NYT partnered with Peter Schweitzer to report on his book, Clinton Cash, even though Schweitzer's "research" was based on fake press releases
8. October 31, 2016 (A week before the election and Rudy was involved.)
9. NYT: Biden’s actions benefited his son.
