.@KNX1070 Motorists heading from the Los Angeles to the San Diego area should try, at all costs, to get onto I-15, most likely via EB CA-91, because of that mess on SB I-5, which is jammed from Ave. Palizada in San Clemente all the way to just before Las Pulgas Rd. #SoCalTraffic
But anyone using that detour route and wanting to get back to I-5 should use WB CA-76 to get to Oceanside during the afternoon commute, and not WB CA-78, because that jams from off I-15 halfway to Oceanside (as EB does approaching I-15). #SoCalTraffic
The exact opposite is usually true for those trying to get from San Diego to Los Angeles, because NB I-15 can get jammed from CA-76 to I-215 and NB I-5 is usually pretty good from Oceanside north toward Orange County. NB I-5 is unaffected by the SB mess. #SoCalTraffic
With some of the traffic in Camp Pendleton breaking up, I'd still avoid I-5, because that traffic is migrating south and there's now about a 6 or 7-mile back-up approaching CA-78, which is NOT a freeway-to-freeway interchange, as it ends in a stoplight. #SoCalTraffic #sdtraffic
EB CA-91 is jammed near CA-55, CA-241, and from past CA-71 to I-15, but it's not as bad as it can be. SB I-15 is jammed from Hidden Valley Pkwy. to Weirick Rd./Dos Lagos Dr., but is clear from there all the way to CA-163/Kearny Villa Rd. in San Diego. #SoCalTraffic #sdtraffic
