Steele told State Dept official that congressional sources "confirmed" that Carter Page was involved in GOP platform change on Ukraine. But there's no evidence Page was involved, and he denies it. Page says he's surprised Steele might have Cong contacts dailycaller.com/2019/05/10/chr…

Steele shared other dubious claims with State official Kathleen Kavalec, such as that Russia was running ops out of its Miami consulate (which doesn't exist) and that Russia had a mole in DNC.
Despite that, Kavalec emailed Jonathan Winer, the State official who set up the meeting, saying the meeting "was very helpful."
Winer was a background source for Isikoff and Corn, but it's not known whether Kavalec knew that at the time.
