The Economist *Amartya Sen* was appointed as chairman of Nalanda Mentor Group in 2007 & made first Chancellor of famous *Nalanda University*(NU) in Bihar by Congress govt in 2012.
He enjoyed a salary of *Rs 5 Lakh* per month, tax-free benefits, unaccounted foreign travels, meeting in luxury hotels, power to direct appointments, etc.

Nine years during Manmohan Singh's tenure, Amartya Sen ran Nalanda University while mostly staying abroad.
He appointed seven faculties. Made Nalanda University a 5-star hotel.

Total expenditure was stagerring *Rs 2729 crores*

Four female faculties, Dr Gopa Sabharwal, Dr Anjana Sharma, Nayanjot Lahiri and Upinder Singh from Delhi University were made faculties.

Okay first things: You may already be covered medically and saving money. How do you find this out? Look at your CTC in your appointment letter or your payslip

Do you have something called PF on it? That's a saving!

Did HR issue you an insurance card? That's your Mediclaim.
Things to ask: How much PF is being deposited into my account each month?

What's my sum insured? Is it just me who is covered or my dependents too?

e.g. You have 3 lacs for self plus dependents (parents/spouse/child). This means upto 3 lacs to be used by any of you per year

2. A batch of Writ Petitions challenging the ECI's decision to audit EVM counts using VVPATs in no more than one polling station per constituency are coming for hearing. 2/n
3. First of those was filed by M.G. Devasahayam (a former civil servant who has has himself conducted elections) and others. The Supreme Court had issued notice in the matter in January this year. thehindu.com/news/national/…

#Thread There may have been sabotage last week, but a look at the power utilities report to Nersa paints Eskom on the brink of collapse. Eskom's own report describes a litany of severe faults with the new power stations' most important components...
So problem one is the technology Medupi was built with which is very modern technology... Way mismatched to the low grade coal quality in the ground at Lephalale. The Eskom report details poor coal is damaging every part of Kusile and Medupi.
Then Eskom admits that design and technical requirements are not met. The Mills to pulverise coals don't meet technical specs. The boilers' design means they overheat. Coal damages them. The filter plant to filter fumes is damaged by coal & excess ash builld up & trips often.
