What does this even mean?
I don’t understand how the answer to segregation is to increase schools that sort and segregate kids.
Access points to what? We desegregate our schools by increasing the number of schools that segregate by so-called ability? We are increase the isolation of kids who struggle academically or don’t test well? How is this the answer?

Jesus, this is terrible. But this is also the guy who called Obama clean and articulate and now the media wants to run with this electability racket. Perhaps he’s seen as electable because he, too, can attract those “economically anxious” white voters?
Good time to re-up how he secretly worked with blatant white segregationists to block busing for school integration.
Gotta give him credit — he somehow managed to get every racist trope about black women and families into a single pithy sentence. I was really, really unaware that black mothers do not talk to their kids. Amazing!

Just for a bit of balance when I was trying to get out of special ‘schooling’ in the 1980s none of the local public schools in Campbelltown NSW would take me. Only a local Marist school was accessible & made the effort #schools #education
The principal of one public school looked at me, snorted and said ‘well what are we going to do with this little problem hey?’
The second public school said I’d have to skip maths & science classes and do them in a corridor or the library

Went to Azraq Refugee Camp in Jordan today. Official population at 53,967, according to @UNHCR as of February 2018. All Syrian #refugees.

In many ways it was not what I expected.
First thing you notice is how remote the location is — some 100 kms east of Amman; 20 kms from Azraq town; 75 kms to Saudi Arabia; 255 kms to Iraq; and 90 kms to the Syrian border — from which its inhabitants fled.
At the same time, the harshness of the setting — a hardscrabble, sprawling 15 square km patch, scratched, etched and stretched out of endless rolling desert.

The perimeter was equally formidable, with security fencing, official patrols, check points and razor wire.
