1/ It isn't a silly quibble to point out that @jsternweiner framed his thread as "veteran Jewish peace activist smeared as antisemite" when the criticism was of what Secker actually said, not that he was "an antisemite."

2/ It's a deceptive straw man which is then taken up eagerly by others.
Paint the person as wholly virtuous, above reproach, make the issue about them and skim over or ignore what has been said or done and it's knock-on effect.

3/ Same with Miko Peled "who happens to be a Jewish American-Israeli peace activist and son of prominent Israeli general" who also happens to have made statements which clearly cross the line into antisemitism. Completely ignored by Mr. Weiner in his defences of him.
4/ "Part Jewish anti-racist activist Jackie Walker" and so on and so forth.
5/ On Saturday, first thing he did with Secker's speech, attack Jews (and he picked out Luciana Berger) for "dishonestly smearing a prominent Jewish peace activist as a racist." Even though that isn't quite what she did.

6/ In defence of J. Walker, Mr. Weiner claims "the Holocaust being uniquely evil" is "central dogma of the antisemitism industry" & many Jewish communal orgs use the Holocaust as an instrument to trivialise the oppression of non-Jews.

7/ This gets thrown back at other Jews. That they "use" the Holocaust for dishonest means, or portray themselves a "unique victims" as part of a hidden "agenda".

END/ Mr. Weiner clearly has a very low opinion of many of his fellow Jews and their sensitivities, dedicating a lot of time to whitewashing their legitmitate concerns about antisemitism.
Anyone who actually cares about antisemitism needs to give this gentleman a very wide berth.
