Whether you agree with it or not; regard is as necessary or dangerous, a strategic revolution took place after November, 2016. It happened largely without open debate because the media was reluctant to acknowledge it and that is the most tragic aspect of it.
Before November 2016 everyone was talking about the "rule based Global Order" in almost reverent tones. After that people began to realize, "OMG. We are under hybrid attack by Russia, China and Iran!" Do you still think Global Warming should soak up a 100 trillion?
Trump's biggest failure, though perhaps it is not his fault, is his inability to create a national unity coalition to face this challenge. Maybe the only way for the Left to see the threat is to pretend they discovered it first.
