I don’t watch the Handmaid’s Tale. I get why folks love it but we have real life American history to point to. Enslaved black girls as young as 10 were bred like animals until their adult bodies could no longer produce children. This happened in America.
It’s awful. It’s horrible. But it happened. These draconian laws are not new but people don’t look at the atrocities committed against black girls and black women (enslaved & not) as women’s history. That’s why your only point of reference is a fictional show about white women.
Indigenous women are still being murdered at horrific rates. In 2019. When has this country EVER been good to girls and women??
The Salem Witch trials happened. In America! How have we forgotten how far this country will go to remind girls and women how much we are hated?

...what’s happening in Alabama, GA, Ohio, Missouri & other states are like a fictional show about WW & not, say...like America’s actual history. Doing the most & the least at the same damn time🙄🙄🙄
Folks were literally in my mentions saying fuck GA like those voters who worked so fucking hard didn’t also have an election stolen from them. Like the Black women on the fucking ground mobilizing & registering voters aren’t also employed by these studios. I’m disgusted tbh.
Guys...it’s not about the show. Enjoy it! Lol. It’s about feeling more comfortable relating to a fictional show about a dystopian future centering WW than actual American history that layed the path for GA/Alabama, Ohio etc to happen in 2019. Thas it. 😂
