3/ #NXIVM Herbits was recruited again in 2004 to help with scandal at World Jewish Congress, (Israel Singer stealing funds, Bronfman President); Herbits was elected as Secretary General of WJC when Singer stepped down...

9/ Also Clare wanted the Albany Times Union to cease their pesky negative reporting against #NXIVM, and wanted Herbits to "reach out" to owner George Hearst, to get him to stop.. Forbes too..

10/ Herbits describes an "up and down",strained relationship between the Bronfman sisters and their father/brothers. The father seemed to be increasingly stressed, citing the fortune that Clare and Sara were spending on litigation to win suits against #NXIVM enemies, LOSING money

After 2+ hrs to get to #NXIVM trial, day 5...Court was adjourned today due to juror alternate #3 calling out sick🤯.

New #NXIVM trial #thread from May 13 transcripts. The day begins with a sidebar which is redacted from the transcript. Mark Vicente remains on the stand. Judge mentions to jury that this day will only go until 4 p.m. and Friday will only go until 2 p.m., essentially a half day.
Vicente continues on direct examination. The first part of his testimony on this day outlines the immunity agreement he has with the government for his testimony. Then they move onto 2008 when Barbara Bouchey, Susan Dones, and others left NXIVM. In total 9 people left.
Vicente says Raniere’s excuse for the 9 who left was that they were engaged in criminal activities and dubbed them as suppressives. Vicente says he was asked to contact law enforcement regarding those who left.

Vicente, still under cross examination, says he returned to his home in LA following his first intensive. He says Nancy Salzman and Sara Bronfman kept trying to get him to come back to Albany and spend more time there. Says he eventually came back less than a year later.
Says he began to climb ranks and Nancy Salzman asked him to move to Albany. Vicente says he told her he wanted to be "a good man, a great man. I wanted to make films that would change the world." She told him he could do that in Albany and perhaps be mentored by Raniere.

Just getting a chance to give you your after lunch wrap up of everything that happened in the second half of testimony in the trial against #NXIVM leader Keith Raniere. #THREAD
The defense continued talking about messages the witness would send back and forth with Raniere. Showed many "good morning Grandmaster" messages that were often accompanied by a naked photo.Witness says she was following her instructions as a slave.
She says the chats were required of her while she was in DOS. Says before DOS she had positive things to say about Raneire. She says during DOS "what I said and how I felt were different."

That concluded he prosecution examination of the first witness. New #THREAD for the defense cross examination done by Raniere’s attorney Marc Agnifilo.
Defense asks the witness if she has negative feelings about Jness now. She says yes. He says but it hasn’t always been that way and she agreed sometimes she had positive feelings about the teachings in the past.
He asks more about the dietary restrictions and asks her if Bronfman and Raniere helped her gain weight back. She says yes. He asked her many more questions about her horse jumping career. Witness says she wanted to take the initial #NXIVM classes.
