I'll take "Things You Don't Know about Felix Sater" for $500 Alex.
"He provided the telephone number of Osama bin Laden. He has done an awful lot of very interesting and dangerous things.”
politico.com/story/2019/05/…
AWCC was set up in 1999 by Ehsan Bayat, an Afghan/American. Bayat gave 20% to the talibs and the idea was for U.S. intel to penetrate the system. Bayat was already an FBI asset. There was no cel service in Kandahar in 1998 so imma call bullshit on Felix vanityfair.com/news/2011/08/w…
From 1996 until August 1998, Bin Laden's phone number was 873682505331. He then used a $7,500 Inmarsat Compact M sat phone purchased in Virginia by student Ziyad Khaleel. Khalid Fawwaz was the account holder. All tracked in real time by the NSA. Again imma call bullshit on Felix.
That number is famous because it was found in multiple AQ phone lists and was used to call in his February 1998 fatwa that declared war on the U.S. Bin Laden stopped using that number in Sept of 1998 after the Aug 98 post African embassy bombing airstrikes almost got him in Khost
And yes I was down the street from Bin Laden in Jalalabad at the time. I was with some Afghan demining teams who were terrified that I would get zapped by the geeky Saudi and his Toyota riding furry minions. That didn't stop me from enjoying the beautiful Spin Ghar mountains.
and clip this next time you wonder why the U.S. gov does very well and very badly (all at the same time) at certain things. washingtonpost.com/news/fact-chec…
