Memo to @JoeBiden and @realDonaldTrump: People are rightly angry when women's bodily autonomy is threatened, kids are taken away from parents at the border, and working families can't pay for childcare while corporate CEOs run roughshod over everything.

People are rightly angry when out-of-touch insiders of both parties unify to deregulate Wall Street, prevent families from getting relief from credit card debt, and vote for war in Iraq. (Biden was part of all those things. And he actively with credit card companies vs. Warren.)

If @JoeBiden wants to join the fight for universal childcare, a #GreenNewDeal, Medicare For All, expanding Social Security, enshrining Roe vs. Wade into law, graduating college with zero debt, affordable housing, combating systemic racism...

...passing the biggest anti-corruption bill since Watergate, ending the Electoral College, reforming the Supreme Court, a wealth tax on ultra-millionaires, and breaking up monopolies that hurt our economy...kudos. That's the kind of unity we need.

But Americans are rightly angry, and we need a president who will acknowledge that anger and channel it in the direction of bold, popular, inspiring progressive change. We don't need a Democratic nominee who rejects the fact that people are righteously angry in the Trump era.
